University of Warsaw, Poland: Review, Admission Requirements and Acceptance Rate

The University of Warsaw (UW), established in 1816, is Poland’s largest and finest university. From its beginning the UW has played a major role in the intellectual, political and cultural life of Poland, and has been recognized throughout the world as a leading academic centre in this part of Europe.

The University of Warsaw offers a rich selection of postgraduate courses, MBA programmes and courses for non-students. This offer is also extended to foreign citizens. Those who are proficient in Polish language are unrestricted in their choice of courses, others may participate in courses which are delivered in languages other than Polish, mainly in English.

Open University courses are available to everyone who is at least 16 years old. The courses are based on bespoke programmes prepared by the lecturers of the University. The courses cover six domains: Languages & Nations, Culture & Art, People & Society, Business, Economy & Law, People & Environment, Science & Technology.

The university has massive breakthroughs in research. The University’s teams have acquired recognition of the worldwide academic milieu in many areas of knowledge. Research projects and discoveries by the University’s scholars, in the fields of Natural Sciences as much as in the Humanities and Social Sciences, have won greatest respect.

Admission Requirements (Undergraduate):-

  • Complete your personal details and attach your documents
  • Choose field(s) of studies
  • Check and approve the qualification criteria
  • Pay the application fee

Candidates receive the qualification results on their individual registration accounts in the System of Internet Registration of Candidates (IRC).

Admission Requirements (Master and PhD)

In case of application to first (BA) or long-cycle (MA) studies – the original of secondary school (maturity) certificate or another document (with a full list of final grades), entitling to undertake university-level study in country in which the certificate / document was issued

In case of application to second-cycle (MA) studies – the higher education diploma (MA, BA, engineer diploma or equivalent) with a full list of grades obtained during the course of study, entitling to continue university-level study in country in which the diploma was issued

A legalisation / authorisation of above-mentioned documents (or apostille if the document was issued by an institution operating in the educational system in a country that was a member of the Hague Convention of 5th of October, 1961 abolishing the requirement of legalizing foreign official documents)

A document stating that the certificate / diploma entitles to undertake or continue university-level study in country in which the certificate / diploma was issued (such proof should be issued or certified by the school or educational institution which issued the certificate / diploma or by educational authorities of the country which issued the certificate / diploma or in which system of education the school operates.

Original sworn translations into Polish language (or English language if a candidate undertakes studies provided in English) of all the document.

Original sworn translations into Polish language (or English language if a candidate undertakes studies provided in English) of all the documents listed above or (in case of other than sworn translation) translation legalized by the Polish consul in the country where the documents were issued

A certificate of recognition (nostrification) of secondary school (maturity) certificate / higher education diploma, if applicable.

A personal questionnaire printed out from candidate’s individual registration account in the Candidates Registration System and signed up by the candidate

A photocopy of visa or other document proving legalization of stay in Poland – in case of foreigners staying in Poland.

Admission Deadline :- Registration From 05 June 2019 Till 05 July 2019.

Acceptance Rate:- 20% – 30%.
